Wendy Kveck

Through her work between painting, drawing, collage and performance Wendy Kveck digests images of women from art history and contemporary media, contemplating these images as cultural signifiers pointing to excess, desire, anxiety, fear and regret. Through staged and documented performances she transforms these images and roles to exaggerate their implication. The resulting works are layered accumulations, built from engagement with collaborators, the influence of digital media, and studio processes.

Kveck holds a BFA from the University of Iowa and an MFA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (2007). Her work has been exhibited nationally, and recent projects include a Jentel Artist Residency in Banner, Wyoming, a three-person exhibition at the Marjorie Barrick Museum in Las Vegas, and an upcoming group exhibition at the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno. She lives and works in Las Vegas.
